Some of these controllers have USB out and will work with more modern consoles and computers, allowing you to use them with N64 emulation.

Shift the "wireless controller" listed from the left to the right and choose "pro controller" in the drop down below.Yes, the 3D games were amazing and felt truly groundbreaking, but the N64 controller featured buttons and a setup that we had never seen before. You can connect the Switch Pro controller to PC with or without a wire, so it stands to reason I'll be able to use this new N64 controller on PC too, right?

My one and only thing I dislike is due to the form factor, the A/B button are where a right stick normally is, so my thumb doesn’t naturally rest there. I loved the N64 controller so much that I was surprised years later to discover that other people did not. The Brawler 64 does a perfect job of doing so but with a far better setup for the Z button by having it be a modern-day trigger button while the analog stick is among the best I've ever used. I'm interested in this topic, because even if you get an adapter for a real controller, they wear down and break so damn frequently.Suppose you don't have an old Nintendo 64 controller and aren't especially bothered about authenticity. This controller features a much slimmer, more compact nature and if you look closely, the analogue stick closely resembles the original too! As PC Gamer reports, all you need to do is connect them via Bluetooth and Steam should recognize them right away, ready to be customized for just about any PC game, just like the standard Switch and Switch Pro controllers.

Either way, all the options on this list are great choices and you won’t be disappointed no matter which you choose. In other words, it's only meant to be used with a PC and may not function properly with something that can't recognize its inputs, like a Nintendo Switch.

For many years, I have tried finding a perfect N64 controller for PC purposes for Aki game ROM hacks and nothing has fit the bill. The modernised N64 controller removes the classic awkward layout and replaces it with a much more comfortable aesthetic that we are all familiar with. Its battery life is a bit shorter than that of the Brawler64 Wireless and comes in at around 6 hours maximum and charges using Micro-USB. However, you might find that you get better performance in the game by switching to a new and improved N64 controller option like the Brawler64 or Tribute 64 controllers. Generic USB controller, this uses a standard USB port, if your program or application accepts USB controller input, it can be used natively without drivers or patches.

If you want something that feels and looks like your original then this is the one to go for if you don;t want to spend a pretty penny, and perhaps have a tendancy of rage quiting.I can get used to that, but I think it could be better if the A/B buttons had a different texture in this format so it’s easier to tell them apart by feel. This will allow for some advance features like using the adapter on an Xbox with special firmware, or up-linking to other future Bliss-Box add-on accessories. You can't tell me, for example that Yooka-Laylee or A Hat In Time aren't going to be instantly 15% better if played with an N64 pad. The Brawler64 wireless controller has tons of different color options available and comes in blue, orange, red, extreme green, classic grey, and smoke grey. It might not be as convenient as if the developers officially supported the controller themselves, but it works.
